Assam Police To Recruit 35000 Police Personnel

10 new commando battalions of Assam Police will be set up in the state soon. In this regard, Assam Police is also going to recruit 12,000 commando and 23,000 civil police. The same was announced today by DGP of Assam Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.

DGP Mahanta said, “Today, in a meeting with Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, various internal issues including crime control measures, special branch administration, expeditious investigation, maintenance of law and order in the state were discussed. We are going to go ahead with radical reforms in the special branch of Assam Police because of chief minister Dr Sharma’s dream of decorating assam police in a new form. ”

DGP Mahanta also said that the new commando battalions that are going to be set up will be set up in some special areas of the state through which the geographical integrity of Assam or the threat to India can be prevented.

In a series of tweets Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma mentioned the same.

The conference was designed to discuss ways of modernising the police force in wake of new forms of crimes being spotted by Police

Two shifts duty at all police stations to be introduced to reduce the workload on police personnel.

Taking into consideration the welfare of police personnel, police quarters will be constructed.
Recruitment rules for appointment into police forces will be modified to bring in more professionally qualified and skilled manpower into the system. 4/4
