#ASKAWAYFriday with Wendy AKA EffieGirl

By Upliftingfam @upliftingfam

I started participating in #ASKAWAYFriday and I have enjoyed it. I love connecting with other bloggers and learning more about them. I wanted to participate in this blog hop because I don’t always share a ton of information about myself. I thought #ASKAWAYFriday was the perfect way for everyone to get to know me on a personal basis. For those who don’t know what #ASKAWAYFriday is, you exchange a set of 10 questions for another blogger to answer. Below are 10 questions that Wendy asked me and I hope that you enjoy my answers.

This week I connected with Wendy aka EffieGirl. Wendy is married and has a son who is grown and gone (I’m not looking forward to this stage but I know it has to happen eventually). Wendy has some fabulous tips about clean eating, eating raw, and more. Go visit her site and enjoy her great tips.

  1. I see on your blog you give parenting tips. What is the best tip YOU have received?

I don’t recall anyone giving me parenting advice when my daughter was a newborn. I have always gone with my gut instinct and always did what I thought was best for my children. The hardest decision that I ever had to make was when my daughter was 4 years old and had her cochlear implant turned on. The doctors and audiologist wanted me to force my daughter to stop using sign language so that she could learn to depend on her cochlear implant. I went against their advice and continued to encourage my daughter to learn sign language. Last year when I was talking to the audiologist, she said that researchers are now urging kids to learn both languages. I am glad that I stuck with my guns and went against their advice even though they were trained professionals.

I always tell new mom’s to always go with their gut and find what works for them.

  1. I see in your “about us” section you’ve gone through many struggles. Although I can hear your strength in your writing, we all have our limits. How are things today?

I still struggle with chronic pain on a daily basis. Some days are harder than others but I always try to do the best that I can.

  1. What do you do for yourself? In your alone time, be it 10 minutes, an hour or half a day.

At the end of the day before I go to sleep, I usually play games on my phone, catch up on social media, or read books. I usually do this until I can fall asleep at night.
