Asaf Avidan’s acoustic show at Irving Plaza was superb — one man up on stage alone releasing the tunes of what seemed like five musicians. The crowd stood in awe as he released his sweet, sweet melodies accompanied by his guitar, harmonica and other instruments, which he recorded on the spot and played on a loop. His powerful personality, beautiful lyrics and impeccable voice carried the audience away into another realm. Asaf Avidan is truly a unique musician, and his live renditions of his songs communicate so much energy to his audience. Not to mention his story-telling in between songs gives a wonderful insight to his personality and where his music stems from!
