As Sweet as Candy — VERY Pink Wedding Inspiration

By Claire

Sometimes the girl takes over. When faced with a sea of pink in, say, Toys R Us, I run in the other direction. But today, seeing this pinkness... it's like candyfloss, marshmallows and cherry blossom - everything the girl inside me adores. This inspiration shoot is beautifully indulgent, unashamedly pink - and full of ideas for a deliciously feminine wedding style.

Pink is still a favorite color for brides - and an indulgently pink wedding theme has to say something about the groom too: he's either head over heels in love and just wants his bride to have the day she's always dreamed of or he's in touch with his feminine side! So girls, boys - join me to enjoy lots and lots and lots of pinkness on English Wedding blog today.

Bridal inspiration shoot - as sweet as candy

Photography by Cristina Rossi

Cristina told me, "I organised this lovely bridal styled shoot that took place at Tea Party UK in Finchley. It is a lovely little room owned by Samantha Check, she hosts hen tea parties with beautiful china in very pink surroundings.

My inspiration started with the Tea Party room. When I met Sam, I instantly fell in love with her pink room and I was impressed by how she created her very successful business. I had a vision of doing a styled bridal shoot — to my joy she accepted straight away and let me loose with my team to take over her venue! Being a pink room and loving sweets and cakes the theme had to be Sweet Candy!

I had the pleasure to work with an amazing team of talented people to create this shoot. From make up and hair stylist, wedding stationer, cake artist, and florist and of course a gorgeous model.

I hope you like it!”

Kate Ruth Romey provided luscious pink wedding stationery to set the scene…
These wedding invitations are really pretty — with roses and ranunculus (I’m guessing!) outlined in pink, contemporary fonts and a sheer layer for information sheets, they’re sweet, simple and ever so feminine.

Flowers are by Sally Zachariou of Sabella Floral Design - freesias and roses, a mix of pretty colours to complement the pink wedding style without being plain old pink — they work beautifully. See the inspiration board on facebook which I’ll blog tomorrow too.

Pink wedding cake and cupcakes by Iwona Zero of MK Cakes — and pink meringues from Bakery County Hall. These really add to the styling of the shoot, don’t they? I love pretty cake tables — a gorgeous alternative to the tiered wedding cake on its own in a corner of the room…

Cascading pink flowers on a white cake, tiny cupcakes with white icing and little pink ribbons, and those lovely pink meringues finish the look! The filigree cases on some of the cupcakes are divine — I could have done with some of these myself on the day I killed cupcakes (coming soon!)

The beautiful model for the day is Victoria Peachey - here happily nibbling on a heart-shaped marshmallow. Isn’t she gorgeous?
