I really enjoyed these podcasts. I'm one of those cynical, old fashioned people who see a rise in AI as something terrifying. I do think AI can be used for good such as diagnosing illness earlier so it can be treated sooner and give people a better chance of survival or used to help people with mobility issues lead a fuller life. I find the increase of automation quite abhorrent. I believe AI is a serious threat to people's livelihoods and way of life and this will only increase over time. The podcasts were fascinating and only reinforced by abhorrence and cynicism for AI. One particular episode gave me the chills. The use of AI to offer therapy to children and teenagers was being tested. In the test, the AI programme failed to identity the fact the child was talking about being sexually abused and advised the child to put a more positive spin on their experience. WTF?
