Art is alive and well in the Twin Cities... I just did a Google search for arts events today and got a list of 84 events for just one day!

It never ceases to amaze me how many working artists we have in our metro area... and how accessible they are. This weekend marks the 23rd year of the St. Paul Art Crawl, this year showcasing the work of over 300 artists in 21 different buildings... including Motion Poems ON the Union Depot which screened Friday and Saturday nights.

The largest open studio event in the country, Art-A-Whirl, takes place in Northeast Minneapolis every spring... and Art Attack in the Northrup King building in Northeast Minneapolis is coming up November 7-9... not too shabby with over 200 artists. In addition to those events, the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association hosts First Thursdays... an Open Studio and Gallery Tour held the first Thursday of each month.

When an artist friend came to visit a few weeks ago she had a list of galleries and art shows she wanted to visit... ranging from exquisite basketry and weaving in suburban Eden Prairie Art Center... to the inspired Form + Content Gallery in trendy Minneapolis North Loop... to the surprising Robbin Gallery in the historic Robbinsdale former library building, presenting 11 exhibits of outstanding artist work throughout the year.

Art is alive and well in the Twin Cities... and it extends beyond Minneapolis and St. Paul into the suburbs, ready and waiting for your discovery!
