Around the World in a Creative Blog Hop

By Jollygoodstudio @JollyGoodStudio
I've been a bit of a bad blogger of late but the lovely Kate Marsden of Made by Mrs M has given me the push I needed to get back on it. She kindly nominated me to take part in the Around the World Creative Blog Hop which encourages creatives to share what they're up to by answering a few questions and then pass the torch onto 3 more folk to take part. You can check out Kate's post here and here are my answers.....

1. What am I working on?
To be perfectly honest I've not been working on much Jolly Good stuff recently, both on the design and blogging fronts. I do want to change this, I just need to find my mojo again. In the mean time I have been putting lots of time and love into my other blogging project, Wardrobe Conversations. This is a personal style blog that I run with my BFF, Kimberley. We've been up to lots of exciting stuff, like collaborating with WearEponymous and working on an exciting Halloween project. I've even started dipping my toes into the world of film making and editing, which has been great fun!

2. How does my work differ from others of it’s genre?
I try and make my design work fun with a bit of a weird thrown in. In fact, I'd love to make weird feature more in my work. I am a huge fan of designs with a slightly creepy edge and I think pushing this a bit more in my designs would really help to make my work stand out, even if it is just attractive to other weirdos like me! The ring above was made during a jewelry class at Vanilla Ink and is something I'd love to create more of.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
Because I love it! And, I think I'd go insane if I didn't have some sort of creative project on the go. There is something so satisfying about having an idea and working to make it a reality. I love the buzz of being excited and feeling passionate about what I'm doing.

4. How does my writing/illustration/creative process work?
Right now my design process for Jolly Good isn't working the way I'd like. I feel a little lost as to what I want to create and how to find the time to fit everything in. I really need to get some focus on the go! For Wardrobe Conversations I have someone else there to encourage me and that really helps to drive and motivate me. Think I may need to look out for a Jolly Good design partner to give me the kick up the backside I need!
Well I'm hoping this little post will help set me back on the right track. Some people who are already firmly placed on that track already but who I'd like to nominate to continue on the Hop are:

Mint and Chillies
An awesome Edinburgh photographer who loves to collaborate. The resulting images are all rather beautiful. She recently shot some of Kimberley as part of their Edinburgh blogger series and I can't wait for my turn.

Sanna Dyker
Amazing illustrations that have that weird element I love so much! I love her portraits and use of color.

Cardboardcities
Collages, illustration, photography, blogging and plenty of other creative pursuits this girl can put her mind to anything with beautiful results. I love her colourful collages and pretty patterns.
