Well, first of all, let me tell you that I also do agree that the cost of LED is slightly more than that of CFL. But the number of users who are changing the way of lighting their houses, using LED instead of CFL are also not nerds. They are using the LED because it’s cost effective than CFL. How? Let’s put an end to all of your doubts in this article.

Energy Efficient

Okay, you have to pay slightly more on LED, as compared to CFL. But remember, it’s one time investment. Just think of energy consumption by these two. The LEDs don’t produce any heat and uses all of input energy to give you output and therefore don’t waste any energy. The CFLs eat up about 80 percent of total energy supplied to them. So if you opt for LED, you pay a slightly high amount for ONCE, but saves the same money on your regular electricity bills. Come on, it’s better to pay at once rather than surprising over your huge electricity bills.

Life Span

There are many people who purchase the cheap quality products because of less price tag. Such products don’t last long because of their poor quality and you have to buy them again after a short while. This is nothing but the worst foolish attempt as you buy the cheap priced products with the hope to save some big, but end up with loss only. Similar is the case with the users of CFLs.

The average time of a CFL is maximum of 30,000 hours while that of an LED, it’s more than 50,000 hours, about 16 years.

So just think about it. You purchase the CFL and then after a short while you buy it again, while the smart ones that buy LED, keep stick to the same because of high life time of the same. This is what we call the smart shopping, this is long term planning.

Final Words

It’s not about calculating the cost by seeing the price tag of product only. It’s about the overall cost. It’s quite clear that LEDs are not only better in technology but are cost effective as well, than the CFLs. Along with saving your hard earned money by going with LED technology, you get proper safety and environment protection, which is just priceless. Can you value them?
