…Appreciate

By Zer @the2women

It’s been quite a week for this country.  We’ve had elections, scandals, and now we find ourselves at another national event —Veterans Day.

With several wars that are or are not ending and a certain military figure currently in the not so complimentary spotlight it’s easy to make this day political.  DON’T!

(That’s an angry/urgent exclamation point in case you were wondering)

We’re only saying it once.  This is not a day for your thoughts and beliefs on the rightness or wrongness of military conflicts.  It’s not a day for your thoughts on the politicians associated with these conflicts.

Today is a day to say thank you to the men and women who have and continue to put themselves in harm’s way day in and day out so that you can enjoy the freedom and liberties that you do.

And for the record, you do.  It may not be perfect, it may not be easy, but we are an incredible nation that is truly blessed (by whichever deity you do or do not believe in).

So, say thank you today and tomorrow (especially those of you who get the day off) and every day really, just curb the political rants for the next 24 hours, please.  Thanks.
