- Apple has introduced a fourth generation iPad Air, the design elements of which have been adopted from the iPad Pro.

Apple is intensifying competition in mobile tablets by moving some of the features of the iPad Pro to lower-cost models. The company has unveiled a fourth-generation iPad Air that inherits the industrial design and key features of the Pro with a thin bezel while lowering the price.
The 10.9-inch display on the Air doesn't have the 120Hz ProMotion of the Pro, but it still offers TrueTone and other high-end features. A way is also found to remove the previous Air's thick frames without using FaceID. Instead, a fingerprint reader is integrated in the power switch. It also comes in five colors.
The Pro's USB-C port also reaches the air and supports 4K monitors. You'll see the same 7MP front camera and stereo speakers, but there is only one 12MP rear camera. Magic Keyboard and second generation Apple Pencil support make your iPad a productivity tool.
Apple notes that the new iPad Air will be the first device to ship with an A14 processor. The six-core design is one of the first 5-nanometer chips on the market and promises up to 40% faster performance compared to the previous generation and up to twice the graphics performance. You can also expect an improved neural engine with machine learning acceleration.
The new iPad Air comes with iPadOS 14, which has pencil features like handwriting to text conversion and smart selection.
If you prefer a cheaper alternative, Apple has also released a standard 8th generation iPad (pictured above) that uses the familiar 10.2-inch screen and Lightning connector compared to the A10 in the 7.
