How to make Apple rasam recipe:
- Soak tamarind in enough water. Meanwhile, chop tomatoes and apple into small pieces.
- Dry roast peppercorns and jeera, Make it as a coarse powder using mortar and pestle or mixie. Along with it add the garlic pods and mince along with peeper jeera powder. Reserve this to add later in rasam.
- In a heavy-bottomed vessel or wok, add ghee and oil. Once it gets heated, add mustard, jeera, and red chilies.
- Add tomatoes and curry leaves. Sprinkle some salt and stir well.
- Now add chopped apple and mix well. Let it cook in low flame for 3 to 4 mins till the apple gets cooked.
- Extract tamarind juice and add it to seasoned items.
- Add turmeric, grounded pepper cumin and garlic powder, salt, and some more water.
- Finally, add some coriander leaves and mix well.
- Keep the flame high, once the rasam starts first boiling turn off the flame.
- Serve with plain rice and accompany with pappad or potato fry.
