If you've got a new iPhone 12, Apple Watch, or iPad right now, hold on - Apple has them iCloud problems. This is likely the result of a large number of people trying to set up or update iCloud accounts after the Christmas holiday gifts.
According to the iCloud account and login entry on Apple's system status page, the problem began early on Christmas Day and is "ongoing". More than a day later, the Apple system status page indicated that the problem was with the Storage service remains "running".

The company also encountered issues with Apple ID sign-in. In a Twitter response later on Christmas Day to a request from an Apple user trying to set up an iPad and a HomePod Mini, Apple Support has identified problems The company has "high capacity at this point, which affects your ability to set up iCloud". The Apple Support tweet said, "Please try again in a few hours."
The holidays are usually a busy time for device activations as people unwrap gifts from phones, tablets, smartwatches, smart speakers, and other electronics and try to get them set up right away.
Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
