Apple Cinnamon Snack Health For Kids

Posted on the 14 June 2013 by Dave Nevue

In the past thirty years the number of obese children has doubled. The percentage of obese children was up to 18% in the year 2010. One third of our children are overweight or obese. It has been shown that children are less active and are consuming too many calories. Healthier snacks are one way to help the children lose weigh or help them maintain a healthy weight. I will be sharing different tips on how to help our children live a more active lifestyle while eating healthy in future articles. A tasty snack that is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants is an apple cinnamon snack. This snack is a healthy alternative for kids. Apple cinnamon tastes sweet but has no added sugar.

As a mom you know your family’s health is very important to you. This snack will take only minutes to prep and your children will love it. Grab some Tupperware bowls and cut up some firm apples into bite size chunks. Add a tablespoon of cinnamon (you can use more or less, add to taste.) Put the lid on the Tupperware bowl and shake until the apples are covered with cinnamon. Put in the refrigerator and chillfor several hours. That is all it takes.

The juices from the apple will come out making this snack sweet. This apple cinnamon snack can last a couple of days in the refrigerator.

There are many temptations out side of the house for our children to face. What child would say no to candy, soda or ice cream? You can help them by controlling what they eat at home. Teach them the importance of eating healthy. It is easy to find healthy choices they will love to eat.

Best of health and happiness,
