Restaurant Bar and Grill bring back Aperitivo time

The sun is shining, it's stuffy and hot...perfect weather to chill out with a glass of something cool. At Restaurant Bar and Grill in Princes Square, we embraced the concept of Aperitivo: it's like post-work chill out time for Italians (in the north of the country anyway).

The idea is to have a snack alongside your drink, something to keep you going until dinner time and take the edge off the alcohol. Aperitivo is all about relaxation and taking time out - not to get drunk or stuff your face. It's a similar experience to a having a tapa with your drink in southern Spain or cicchetti in Venice and something which Glasgow should be doing more of. Who doesn't enjoy a tasty with their drink?!

Aperitivo time runs from 4pm until 6:30pm every day, including Saturdays with a list of recommended Aperitivo drinks to try such as The Spanish G&T, Aperol Spritz and St Germain Spritz. We got to try all three which were great and they don't skimp on the measures! 👌

Each Aperitivo comes with a choice of snack such as padron peppers or smoked salmon. So pick your snack and settle down - there are six in total and if you buy a bottle of Prosecco then this counts as 6 individual drinks so you can get all six snacks.

The padron peppers were extremely tasty, the olives plump and firm and the popcorn was quite spicy! All six were great in fact.

Chin-chin!

This is a ritual I think I could quite enjoy in this weather!
