Anusha to Lead Sri Lanka National Squad

We reliably understood that the Sri Lanka national selectors have selected the touring Women’s team after the trials which took place at Longdon Place last Sunday for the upcoming Commonwealth and Asian Games Sevens Rugby tournament, which will take place in Birmingham, England (from July 28) and China (from September 25).

CR & FC’s Anusha Attanayake who is an experienced player will captain the Women’s team.

The shortlisted probable 20 member Sr Lanka Sevens rugby squad is as follows (Subject to Ministry of Sports Approval):

Anusha Attanayake (Capt), Kanchana Kumari, Jayanthi Kumari, Sandika Hemakumari, Dilini Kanchana, Shanika Madumali, Charani Liyanage, Dulani Pallikondage, Ayesha Perera, Jeewanthi Kumari, Umayangana Thathsarani and Nipuni Rasanjali.

Reserves (8) Polhewage Dilani, Anushika Samarawickrama, Hashini Anuttara, Chamodya Madumali, Shanika Dilini, Niranjala Wickramasinghe, Hekashani Krishnakumar and Randika Kumuumali.
