Another Woman Has Come Forward Claiming Roman Polanski Sexually Assaulted Her As A Minor
Roman Polanski, 83, is being accused of sexually assaulting a minor for the THIRD time. A woman, who is only being identified as “Robin,” appeared at a Gloria Allred-hosted press conference in L.A. yesterday. (Honestly, how does Gloria juggle her caseload? Does she just show up for the first press conference, and then the one on the courthouse steps after the trial is over? Are there Gloria Allred doppelgangers?)
The Guardian reports that “Robin” is claiming that she was “sexually victimized” by tiny terror Polanski in 1973 when she was 16. She says she told one friend about the incident after it happened, but no one else. The reason why she didn’t come forward, was that she was afraid her dad would find Roman and play kickball with his head. Ok, she didn’t specify that, but you get the gist. And, from what I’ve read, not a bad idea. Rosemary’s Baby is a great flick and all, but this guy is a creepster.
“The reason, with this exception, that I kept it to myself is that I didn’t want my father to do something that might cause him to go to prison for the rest of his life.”
Please note that I typed “third” up there. In 2010, British actress Charlotte Lewis (Roman’s Pirates) held a previous Gloria Allred-hosted press conference claiming that Polanski coerced her into having sex with him. She was also 16 at the time.
Unfortunately for “Robin’s” accusation, the statute of limitations has expired on her case. But Gloria says she could be called to testify in a future trial.
Roman Polanski’s most famous work might be his refusal to return to the US to face a trial on the charges that he drugged and raped then 13-year-old Samantha Geimer in 1977. “Robin” says that Samantha publicly stating that she doesn’t want any more legal action taken against Roman was her impetus to come forward.
The director hightailed it to France in 1978. He was afraid that a judge was going to sentence him to several decades in prison for the statutory rape he admitted to when other charges were dropped. Back in March, he and his legal team waxed haughty and demanded that he be assured of little to no jail time if he returned to face the music. The answer from the L.A. County DA’s Office was a resounding “no, bitch.” It shouldn’t be shocking to anyone (especially Mr. Polanski) that drugging and raping someone requires jail time. And messing with minors should probably get you daily beatings in the Gen Pop yard and possibly the role of a lifetime as Big Eddie in Cellblock D’s cuddle monkey.
