André Rieu’s Week of the Waltz Party

By Evette Garside @evette77

André Rieu is a Dutch violinist and conductor best known for creating the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra. Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra have turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring music act, as successful as some of the biggest global pop and rock music acts.

To celebrate the launch of André’s new album Love in Venice, we got the chance to be part of André Rieu’s Week of the Waltz parties thanks to the guys at Come round Parties.
Last Saturday I was very happy to host my very own Week of the Waltz party along with other bloggers across the country. I invited 6 people and my kids also took part in some of it.
To help host the party I was sent a box full of party goodies.

The party box contained an assortment of party masks, a poster, pens, chocolates, continental biscuits, a waltzing DVD and sample CDs of the king of waltz his self.

I did my own bits of party food and bought in some drinks. I was glad it was only 6 other people as my house is not huge and 6 plus me and my children was certainly a house full.
Once guests were here I put on the CDs and DVD and made everyone waltz around with masks on. It was more like a Halloween scene as the masks looked quite freaky.

The biscuits and chocolates that I received went down really well with everyone. We had a fun time hosting our party and even my children enjoyed it despite not liking this type of music.

Some of my guests had never heard of Andrè Rieu so it was nice to give him and them an introduction. Waltzing is not for everyone but we all had a great night trying it.
