The old steel trusses!
The lovely team at Assembly Row was kind enough to give me an afternoon of shopping so I used the time to stock up on essentials for the beach! We stopped by the J.Crew Factory store where I grabbed a large, straw hat, white denim and a printed tunic and then hit Kenneth Cole for an army green shirt dress.
Later in the afternoon, I met up with some of my other favorite bloggers and the Assembly Row team for appetizers and drinks at River Bar. If you have a chance to sit on River Bar's patio (complete with multiple fire pits and couches) one sunny afternoon, don't pass it up! Order their Bikini Bottom cocktail and the Fried Chicken Sandwich.
This post was sponsored by Assembly Row. I was provided with a $200 gift card and bites at River Bar for an afternoon.
Before I left for my trip to Florida (my travel guide to Sarasota will be coming soon), I spent an afternoon at Assembly Row in Somerville. I have a soft spot for Assembly Row because not only is it close to where I live but my grandfather actually worked at the factories there when it was still just Assembly Square. One of my favorite things about the ever expanding space (which includes outlets from favorite retailers, two apartment complexes, and New England's Legoland) are the little nods to the past that the developers thoughtfully sprinkled throughout the property. You'll find the preserved trusses from the Assembly Plant standing tall, anchoring the gorgeous, waterfront park.
