Amy & Enrique’s Romantic Ballroom Wedding

By Thedreamery

It’s Wednesday, already I know, but I’m excited to finally share this special wedding I was lucky enough to work on this past Labor Day weekend with today. This wedding is classic romance meets traditional pretty with plenty of personal unique touches. From the bride’s beautiful beaded gown she paired with Converse sneakers, to the prettiest pink roses, timeless white and silver color palette and whimsical succulents…Amy and Enrique’s wedding is definitely a classic affair with a twist.

You don’t need to know Amy and Enrique really well to know these two are the real deal in love. They’re the laid back, fun couple whose special connection and friendship is what most relationships aim to be. Are you swooning already? And if you couldn’t tell by their guest’s reactions, this is one wedding everyone was excited to be a part of. Upon arriving to the The Royal Manor, guests were greeted to a champagne toast and photo display of the couple, as well as photographs from their parents’ wedding. Love was the word, with different quotes making their way throughout the ballroom. Guests were able to mingle during cocktail hour, while reading custom napkins printed with fun facts about the couple and flipping through their engagement album, which was also their guestbook. By the end of the night, each page was filled with sweet and loving messages.

One of the bride and groom’s unique, and my favorite, ideas were to use vintage key shaped bottle openers as each guest’s table cards. For a rustic touch, they were tied with calligraphy kraft tags and jute twine, then hung from two white shutter doors. Guests loved seeing this special detail, which stood out beautifully amongst the traditional ballroom setting.

This sweetheart table, isn’t it just the loveliest?! With such a grand ballroom, we wanted the sweetheart table to be the focal point of the room, while being as romantic and cozy as possible. The bride fell instantly in love with a white tufted loveseat, and had a special table custom made by her father. Lanterns, flickering romantic candles, white hydrangeas, and a whimsical Mr. and Mrs. marquee sign transformed this into the dreamiest little space for the fun-loving couple to exchange sweet nothings, and give their Converse wearing feet a break from dancing. The ballroom, with draped walls and dim purple lighting made a grand space filled with 300 plus loved ones feel like an intimate dance party. You knew you were in for a good time when the Maid of Honor skillfully rapped her speech to the beat of the Fresh Prince of Bell Air theme song.

The party lingered well into the morning hours with one of the guests even bringing out their accordion to play traditional Portuguese folk dance music, as guests who’ve danced together over the years, including the groom, sang along. You could tell instantly that every guest genuinely enjoyed each other’s company and wanted nothing more than to celebrate the love of Amy and Enrique. Gina from More than a Gift, made each table classically beautiful and grand, while still keeping it simple. Lush white hydrangeas nestled with pale pink lilies and roses topped silver candelabras dripping in crystals. And how do you make things even more romantic? By draping each table with sparkling silver sequin runners that reflected candle light so perfectly.

I loved that although their wedding was in a traditional ballroom, Amy and Enrique made sure to incorporate a few casual and rustic details, like their whimsical wedding cake made to look like a tree carved with their initials. They even continued this look with their favors by gifting each family with the cutest mini succulents wrapped in kraft paper and custom “Let Love Grow” tags.

As their wedding approached the later hours, Amy and Enrique wanted to make sure the fun kept going for their guests. A lavish dessert room, yes room, offered everyone with endless sweet treat options, including carnival favorites like fresh popped popcorn and cotton candy. And as you made your way to the outside grotto to enjoy the beautiful night or grab a cocktail, cigars were displayed. The men definitely loved this one! But what had guests raving, and very thankful for as they made their way home….a grilled cheese food truck!

I was so lucky to have been a part of Amy and Enrique’s special day, they were the type of client wedding planners dream of working with. May this new chapter of your relationship be filled with even more romance!
