Amrita Rao revealed that Aditya Chopra gave him an offer to become a ‘Yash Raj’s film hero “in 2011 but he refused. Watch the video here.
Amrita Rao and her husband RJ Anmol revealed in a new episode of their show some things he refused to be part of the talent in-house film Yash Raj. He also shared that he had previously offered two films by production houses – Nalki ‘n’ Nikki and Bachna Ae Haseeno – but refused to be part of them because he was uncomfortable with a kiss scene.
The video starts with Amrita and Anmol talking about how it feels ‘very low’ after they witness Luv Ka, starring Shraddha Kapoor, together in the theater. “Mujhe Yeh lag Raha Tha Ki Aisi’s clean family film with Yash Raj Mujhe Kyun Nahi Mi Rahi Yaar (I wonder why I didn’t offer a clean family movie with Yash Raj Film)? I deserve it,” he said.
Seeing the setback of Amrita, Anmol with tears, which made him realize that ‘God has given (he) is a very valuable soulmate’ and he must appreciate that instead of making upset about things he doesn’t have.
A few months later, in November 2011, Amrita received a message from Yash Chief Yash Movie and Managing Director Aditya Chopra. He asked him to come to the office to meet and extend the offer to become ‘Yash Raj Heroine’ home.
Amrita said that Aditya told him that he was a ‘women’s hero’ and had a ‘picture of Rajshri’ but the films were not only for family viewers. He asked him if he still had a reservation about the scene kiss or if he was ‘open to try various things’.
Before Amrita left, Aditya told him that there was no ‘formality’ and if he was uncomfortable, all he needed to do was send him ‘no’ and he would understand. He revealed that when he told his manager about the offer, he said that only the announcement he came with Yash Movie Raj alone would lead to brand support and film to be poured.

Anmol revealed that Aditya was the first person from the industry who knew about Amrita’s relationship with him. “I have to tell him because Adi Sir is very valuable. He is very, very special and I have the highest respect for him in the film industry,” he said.
