Hackers spammed in-game chats on Among Us, forcing developer InnerSloth to quickly release a patch. The hack advertised a streaming channel and threatened to damage phones if people didn't sign up. This emerges from a Friday report by CNET's sister publication GameSpot. It also contained a "Trump 2020" message. Some gamers estimate that the hack has reached hundreds or maybe thousands of matches.
"We are very aware of the current hacking problem and are investigating it." InnerSloth said in a Thursday tweet. "We will be releasing an emergency server update to prevent people in the game from playing. Please play private games or with people you trust !!! Bare with us !!"
