Americans Pride In Their Country Is At Its Lowest Point

These charts are from the Gallup Poll. The survey was done between June 13th and 16th of a national sample of 1,015 adults, and has a 4 point margin of error.
It shows that 70% of Americans say they are proud of their country -- but that is the lowest percentage since Gallup has been polling on this question. The highest percentage was recorded in 2002 (after the 9/11 tragedy). Since that time, pride in country has scored in the low to mid-eighties.
But after Trump took office, that pride took a significant hit -- dropping more than 10 points to the current low. Republicans scored pride in this country the highest at about 76%. But only 41% of Independents and 22% of Democrats say they are currently proud of their country.
This is understandable. It's hard to be proud of a country with a leader that coddles and buddies up to dictators, denies global warming and refuses to cooperate with other countries to stop it, tilts its economic policy to favor the rich (to the detriment of all others), refuses to honor agreements, denigrates our allies, attacks and demeans our free press, divides the country by calling racists "good people", and cares for no one but himself.
Personally, I long for the day I can once again be proud of my country.
