On Tuesday, the United States got a new Congress -- one in which both houses are controlled by the same party (the Republican Party). Is this going to solve the gridlock that haunted the 113th Congress -- a gridlock that had Americans giving Congress very low approval numbers (between 6% and 15%)?
The folks at the Rasmussen Poll decided to find out if Americans thought Congress had been fixed. Immediately after Tuesday's election, they queried a random national sample of 1,000 voters (and their survey had a margin of error of 3 points). They asked people if the new Republican Congress would be a disappointment -- and a whopping 59% said YES!
I agree. I think the new Congress will be a huge disappointment -- and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them shut down the government again (since they don't have the votes to override a presidential veto).
