American Beauty

By Remielund @remsluxuryblog
We all know the steps we should be taking for supermodel-worthy skin but sometimes we get lazy, I know I do. Sometimes I just don’t have the time or the energy to cleanse, tone, moisturise and apply serum and eye cream before my head hits the pillow. When I’m being good I’m very very good but when I’m bad, I’m horrid! *Hides face wipes* However, It’s never too late to pay your skin the attention it deserves. I recently visited America and came back with a ridiculous amount of beauty finds which came in very handy on my return. 10 hours on a plane can cause havoc with your complexion but luckily I had a few new treats tucked away in my suitcase.

Truth be told, I’m not really in the market for new skincare. Just the other day, I came home with enough beauty products to last a year. However, it’s not every day that I get to buy beauty products in America and as you all know there is a Sephora so it’s safe to say I got a little carried away. It would seem I’m always looking for something, something to make my hair shiner, something to make my skin glow or something to make my eyes sparkle. Here are just a few of the American beauty brands I got my hands on in Vegas.

Eminence Moisturiser

I’d hazard a guess that most women have a moisturiser in their bathroom cabinet or even a few pots and tubes populating the bedside table. A good quality moisturiser is a beauty staple and one thing that I couldn’t live without. But when I’m applying mine on a night, I often wonder if (apart from warding off dry skin) it’s actually doing anything. Should I be using a night cream? Should it have anti-aging properties? Is this the right cream for my skin type?  My current moisturiser fulfils my needs when I’m at home  but while I was away, my skin was extra dry due to the constant switching between air conditioning and 40 degree heat. Eminence moisturisers were my favorite beauty discovery while I was in the States simply because they were so different to the moisturisers at home. I picked up the the red rose whip moisturiser and the blueberry soy night recovery cream for good measure.

Vitamin C Serum

Moisturisers, face oil, face masks and balms, I’ve tried them all. Face serum however, is one thing I’ve never purchased. Jet lag paired with very little sleep and copious amounts of alcohol are not a combination for flawless skin. I found this little beauty on my travels and it’s great for those who don’t get enough Vitamin C. This Vitamin C Serum is packed full of antioxidants and it also has anti-aging properties too. Win win!

Vitamins

Towards the end of my holiday in Vegas, I was feeling a little run down so my first port of call was the local Walmart to stock up on Vitamins. For me taking Vitamins isn’t a new thing. I have Cod Liver Oils as well as Green Tea tablets and a good Multi-Vitamin. However, as they tend to come in bulky bottles and I didn’t have one of those cute little pill holders I had to leave them at home. On my jollies I picked up a potassium supplement as well as Milk Thistle (great for the liver) and a general multi-vitamin.

Have you tried any of these American beauty finds?
