American Airlines has announced a daily non-stop flight between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Seattle (SEA), the US and Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR), India. According to the authorities, the service will commence from October 2020.
American Airlines along with its alliance Alaska Airlines, will operate Boeing 787-9, a 285 seater aircraft on this route. It is going to be Seattle's first flight to India and the only non-stop flight from the US.
The decision is going to benefit passengers and tourists travelling between the two countries. The operation of the Boeing will give faster and easier access to San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Denver, Arizona, Dallas, Chicago, West Coast and East states.
To add further, MD & CEO, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), Mr. Hari Marar, stated, "The American Airlines flight between Bengaluru and Seattle will help further establish BLR Airport as the Gateway to a New India".
American Airlines also made the announcement on Twitter, to which Alaska Airlines replied.
