NBC has announced that GLEE’s Amber Riley and Orange is the New Black Uzo Aduba will join the live-action remake of The Wiz. Since this is happening I’m going to have to support this live action remake. The two join the likes of Queen Latifa and Mary J. Blige. Check out who these two actress will play below.
Aduba, who is classically trained singer and Broadway actress, will be playing Glinda, the Good Witch of the South. Amber Riley, who won her season of dancing witht he stars, and is known for having a powerful voice will play Addaperle, the Good Witch of the North. Wiz exectutive producers stated,“We look forward to showcasing the amazing musical talents of Amber, and we are eager to introduce Uzo’s remarkable singing voice for those who know her solely as an extraordinary dramatic actress.” I’m really excited that both women are joing the cast. The Wiz airs on Thursday, December 3 at 8/9c on NBC.
