Amazon has already done away with the tills at its stationary location Amazon Go stores. Now it should also make it easier to access these stores. Starting Tuesday, the retail giant will let people use its latest biometric tech - called Amazon One - to enter two Amazon Go locations in Seattle.
"Amazon One is a fast, convenient, and contactless way for people to use the palm of their hand to perform everyday activities such as paying at a store, showing a loyalty card, entering a location like a stadium, or effortlessly working," said Dilip of Amazon Kumar in a blog post. "The service is highly secure and uses bespoke algorithms and hardware to create a person's unique palm signature."

Users can sign up for Amazon One at any of the company's Amazon Go stores. According to Amazon, the process of moving your hand over an Amazon One device takes less than a minute and links someone's credit card to their handwriting signature. People can sign in with just the palm of their hand or both. Once signed in, users can hold their palm over an Amazon One device to enter the Amazon Go stores.
Amazon plans to expand the technology in its own stores in the coming months and also offer Amazon One to third parties such as retailers, stadiums and office buildings.
