This new 6-inch Kindle Fire HD will sport the same features of its revamped $139 Kindle Fire HD 7, which comes with a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, a display with 1,280 x 800 resolution, dual cameras, 1080p video recording, and powered by Amazon’s new Fire OS 4.0.

In addition, Amazon also announced a pair of Kids Edition tablets. These kid-friendly tabs are basically the same as the 6- and 7-inch devices, but with a special rubber case for protection and a two-year warranty. However, they do have several special parental controls which allows parents to disable access to the appstore, prevent in-app purchases, or even keep kids away from surfing the web and accessing settings. The Kids Edition tablets costs $149 (6-inch) and $189 (7-inch).
