What’s new, Metalwheads! I bring you today a fantastic Swiss Metal band called Almøst Human with an amazing EP entitled “Ø”, that you ought to listen!
These guys have a long experience in the music world from the 90′s to date, working in different musical projects, parallel bands and also in production studios.
In 1996, Olivier Perdrizat (guitar and composition) and Rosario Fullone (drums) started this musical project called Almøst Human, recording a first self-produced CD in 1997. A few years later, the band was faded and it has remained asleep until 2010, when Jan Peyer(bassist) joined the band, as well as Chris Matthey (guitar), who also have a great talent as producer to improve the Almøst Human’s sound, and Benjamin Plüss on vocals with his powerful voice completing the current line-up of the band.
Olivier Perdrizat was the architect of the return of Almøst Human as band, reforming it and offering us as result, after two years of hard work, this absolutely amazing EP called “Ø” which was released in 2012. The EP was recorded by Chris Matthey at Royal Studios, it’s totally self produced and it was mastered by Cutting Room Studios in Stockholm. I honestly have to say that we are front a high quality extreme metal jewel that you should to pay attention to it.
The Almøst Human’s universe rotates around questions such as the human nature and the place of mankind in the animal kingdom. “Ø” EP shows us a particular and opressive atmosphere from lyrics to the whole sound in the EP, with high intensity and energy, offering us a powerful, fresh and modern metal sound full of brutality and melody with really amazing guitar riffs!! I don’t undertand why the band has been sleeping for these long years!! These guys are fantastic and Almøst Human’s should have always been here!! They display an awesome and brutal sound and I have to take off my hat front “Ø” EP!!
From the heavy “Living Wreck” track or the melodic and impressive “Øbey, Cønsume Ør Disappear”, to the great and perturbing atmosphere that they create in “Each Øf Us” song, or my favorite track in the EP, the fantastic “Nørmosis” with its brutal power, cool choruse and amazing guitar riffs, this EP is a extreme metal treasure that you should not miss.
