IFA is one of the world’s leading trade shows for consumer electronics. This year’s show is currently happening in Berlin, Germany. Among dozens of world famous companies who came to show-off their new products, Samsung appeared to surprised everyone with a lineup of new and innovative devices including the next-gen Galaxy Note, a refurbished Note Tab and an all new smartwatch. Read along for more details about everything Samsung unveiled at IFA 2013.

Galaxy Gear

Samsung’s new smartwatch, Galaxy Gear was the most interesting device that came out yesterday. After going through a whole lot of rumors and reports about this device, it was nice to finally see the real thing, officially. Galaxy Gear is basically a smartphone accessory. It shows notifications, and lets you answer calls, control music playback  and even shoot photos with its’ 1.9-megapixel camera, which is even capable of recording 720p video. And yes, it also has a set of cool watch faces.

Overall it looks like a cool piece of tech and unlike other toy-like smartwatches, Galaxy Gear has a classy design. I can easily wear it with anything without having to worry about looking like a nerdy kid. And if my word isn’t convincing enough, above picture taken by Josh Miller at CNET will make a good point to prove what I’ve said.

Galaxy Note III

Samsung’s next gen phablet, Galaxy Note III has the best specs I’ve seen so far on a phablet. In addition to the bigger 5.7 inch screen, Note III sports a whopping 3GB of RAM and a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU. The camera resolution has been bumped up to 13 megapixels while reducing thickness to 8.3mm and weight to just 168g. These are only few of the new features. The Verge says that “Samsung has made a number of subtle and almost universally positive changes” to the device.

Despite the bigger screen, new phablet seem to fit in nicely on any hand and pocket. I’m sold.

Galaxy Note 10.1

This is basically the same device that Samsung unveiled last year but, with a few new changes and improvements. More like the 2014 edition of Galaxy Note 10.1. This one has a 2560 x 1600 resolution which is more than twice the size of the old 1280 x 800 display. In addition it has been upgraded with Samsung’s 8-core Octa chip clocked at 1.9GHz and get supported by 3GB of RAM. S Pen and S Note features have also been improved for the new Galaxy Note 10.1.

Just as Engadget points out, the upgrades on the new Note 10.1 are exactly the same as Note 3. So, you could think of this as a bigger version of Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung has confirmed all these devices will be commercially available around the world in October.
