Confession #99: I’m a sucker for Christmas! Hands up if you’re excited for the festive season? My hands are totally waving and my ears are ready for the jovial jingle. Dazzling Christmas lights, traditional Christmas markets in Europe, mulled wine, ginger bread and massive sale – ahhh! What not to love about Christmas?
Yep, I’m one of those hopeless Christmas enthusiasts who’s started cranking up Michael Bublé Christmas album since September. This year I began my Christmas shopping and decorating my home a tiny bit earlier as I’m traveling to the U.S. for Christmas – pretty spolit! As much as I feel alive through travelling and seeing Christmas light on a journey is beyond magical, one simply can’t miss out on the Christmas mood at home, right? It’s been more than ten years since I first experienced Christmas in mid-summer here in Australia, yet every year I still yearn for being able to snuggle up under my knitted throw and sip hot chocolate by the fireplace. For me this sense of coziness in the winter chill and the bustle from gathering around with my sweet peas are what define Christmas to the very core. To re-create the toasty ambience for a 30° C Christmas, I love bringing out bits and pieces of knitted items. Nothing else conveys the warmth of the season better than knits. So, I’ve compiled this year’s Christmas ‘wish-knit’ from my recent online hunt (told you it’s started early!). Here you are, 10 knitted gems that I NEED this Noël – tell me which one is your favorite pick?
♥ Knitted Christmas Sweater
Let the Christmas sweater hunt begin! Too old school for you cool kids? Seriously, think again. Christmas sweater is one timeless piece that’s wearable every year, and it’s oh-so-cute paring with a vintage leather skirt. I tend to pick the most classic snowflakes pattern in red and white which embeds the soul of the season. It’s also super adorable to style with a cable knit headband and soft wavy curls for a boho look. Now, time to dust off your old hand knitted ones from your grannies, or hunt for a luxuriously designed lambwool one from Christmas sale! I’ve pinned this classic babe with polo neck from Wool Overs to the top of my ‘wish-knit’. Christmas lookbook this year – ticked!

♥ Knitted Cat Hats
Entertainment at home this Christmas with your feline friends? Let them take the spotlight with these gorgeous knitted cat hats! Hint: I chatted with a fellow cat lady recently and she shared her unbelievable experience trying to calm down her cat while doing his nails. Her trick? Just put a hat on – as simple as that! Yep, for real. Apparently, most cats just freeze and stand still when you put a hat on them. So, if your cats tend to get mischievous when you have guests over, you know what to get them this Christmas!
