Alice Eve Cohen

Alice Eve Cohen is a little like the hybrid of Wendy Wasserstein and Lisa Kogan. Entertaining, endearing and wise. She works at the New School, so I’m probably biased. What I Thought I Knew chronicles what started as an alleged tumor which turned out to be a baby, and the way things can turn out completely, and insanely different from their origins.

She writes with a real dignity, and there are scenes about marriage, friendship, devotion and humor that, despite reading a lot of books every year, makes this one pop to the front of mind when someone asks for a recommendation.

I recommend.
