The golden age of indie R&B (or PBR&B as I desperately want it to be known) is upon us. There are many artists who are using the influence of neo-soul and classic R&B in their music, and each seems to be doing something distinct and incredible. Enter Alge, the solo project of LA based producer Jon Weinman. With his soulful vocals layered over complex and rhythmic production, he’s making a type of modern R&B/pop/electro hybrid that we’ve not heard before, and didn’t realize we were missing until pressing play. “My Daughter’s Living Room” dips and weaves through out it’s five minute run time, with new elements coming in and captivating the whole way.
