Alfre Woodard Headed to Private Practice

Alfre Woodard is headed to ABC’s Private Practice this fall. The actress was last seen as Ruby Jean Reynolds on HBO’s True Blood telling son Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) that she spotted his dead boyfriend’s severed head.

According to an exclusive report by Entertainment Weekly, the actress will appear as Sam Bennett’s (Taye Diggs)  mom this November. This comes after meeting Sam’s sister Corrine (Anika Noni Rose) last season. No word on how long Woodard’s arc will be.

Before the actress visits Oceanside Wellness this fall however, she will also star in the Lifetime remake of Steel Magnolias.
