As we reported previously, Alexander Skarsgård attended the Hamptons International Film Festival last weekend. At the Festival, Alexander who premiered Melancholia to the audience, was one of the actors honored with the Breakthrough Performance Award. Emily Browning, Shailene Woodley and Anton Yelchin were also recipients of the trophy.

Alex said he was fond of The Hamptons and enjoyed hanging out there this year while filming in New York City.

I’ve actually been coming out a lot this summer, because I’ve been shooting in New York the past two and a half months.

My best friend, who’s out here tonight with her husband, they have a house out in Amagansett. So on weekends, when I’m done shooting, that’s where I go off to. I’ve been out there a lot this year.

He has been keeping his work load full with True Blood and the recent release of Straw Dogs but doesn’t get hung up on others’ opinions of his projects. When asked about the reviews, “I don’t know. I don’t read reviews, so… I don’t like knowing.” That’s a man with confidence.
