Alexa Meade: Artist Who Creates Living Breathing Paintings

By Inspirion @GoodMood20

What you are about to see, are not paintings on canvas! Alexa Meade is an artist who paints with acrylics directly on human body and she does it so well that you would never guess her "paintings" are breathing, literally.

Alexa Meade is an installation artist based in the Washington, DC area. Her background in the world of political communications has fueled her intellectual interest in the tensions between perception and reality. Meade came upon the idea for her portraits because she had no formal art training: "I didn't have to think of painting as this thing on canvas, because I didn't have any practice doing that. I just saw paint as something that can be used in space, not just on a flat plane," she explains.

Her art-book is full with amazing works, but unfortunately we had to choose only few for this post. Oh, and by the way, as you scroll down, try to imagine that we did not reveal the fact that these masterpieces are living, breathing paintings, would you have guessed?
