The World Tennis League has teamed up with the NFT platform Akshay.io. Fans will be able to buy 3D digital NFTs with official World Tennis League (WTL) team jerseys and player signatures from the “phygital” market.
Fans can meet tennis’s biggest stars, like Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek, at the first World Tennis League, which starts this week in Dubai. NFTs of these meetings can be kept as souvenirs.
The World Tennis League (WTL), a new mixed-gender team competition, will be held from December 19 to 24 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Each of the four teams will have 18 of the best ATP and WTA Tour players.
The market combines the metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to let users claim ownership of both physical and digital assets with proof that can be checked. It is for people who are interested in unusual collectibles and want to learn about rare items.
Akshay CEO Ganesh Raju said, “This is a fantastic and incredibly rare opportunity to utilize the physical, tactile and digital experiences we provided during the historic and inaugural World Tennis League in Dubai.”
