Beginning in April of 2014, Aer Lingus initiated regular flight service between SFO and Dublin, Ireland.  Aer Lingus is the flag carrier of Ireland and operates 11 of these A330 aircraft in their all-Airbus fleet.  The airline’s name is an Anglicization of the Irish aerloingeas which translates into “air fleet”.  For over 80 years Aer Lingus aircraft have been named after Irish saints. This one is “Oengus”, named after the 8th century Saint Aengus (Oengus).
