A British Airways A320 lands at London Heathrow. British Airways operates 56 of these on their domestic short haul routes. First flown in 1984, the Airbus A320 family pioneered the use of digital fly-by-wire flight control systems, as well as side-stick controls, in commercial aircraft. As of November 2019, more than 9,100 Airbus A320-family aircraft have been delivered, with over 6,100 still on order.
