AirAsia Philippines: Awesome News to Start 2013

By Thelostboylloyd @lloydthelostboy

Awesome new carrier AirAsia Philippines can foresee a bright 2013, especially with AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandez revealing plans to focus on young markets, Japan and the Philippines, where there is “utmost growth potential.” For their part, AirAsia Philippines, through news articles, has said that they will launch new destinations like Cebu and Bangkok and add frequencies as they welcome three Airbus 320 deliveries this year.

Speaking of aircraft deliveries, their CEO Ms. Maan Hontiveros told me personally that what they will be receiving this year are the Airbus 320 with Sharklets. Recently, the first one in the world that belongs to AirAsia Malaysia landed in Clark. What’s great about these aircraft is that by significantly improving the aerodynamics, fuel consumption is reduced by four percent. This means an annual carbon reduction of around 1000 tons per aircraft.

AirAsia Philippines has also tied up with popular convenience store chain, 7-Eleven. Now, passengers may complete their bookings done online and through the AirAsia mobile app on iOS, Android, and Blackberry by paying at any 7-Eleven branch nationwide. Through this partnership, both bookings and payments can be done easily 24/7.

Lastly, AirAsia Philippines is sure to benefit from the recently launched TriNoma-Clark Airport Lounge. Four bus companies now provide 24/7 express bus services between TriNoma Mall in Quezon City and Clark Airport for only 200 PHP per way. The lounge has a comfortable waiting area, secured luggage counter, and real-time flight updates, too.
