Mumbai: Retail of the future of India has requested a new Delhi court to declare the ongoing arbitration process with Izon.com Illegal, said the country’s antitrust body has suspended the 2019 deal used by Amazon in the future.
Amazon managed to use the provisions of the $ 200 million investment in the future full of debt to block the efforts of Indian retailers to sell retail assets to rivals, accusing a violation of certain contracts.
But Indian antitrust body, Indian competition commission, in December suspended the 2019 agreement which said the information pressed by Amazon while seeking approval.
Long-term disputes are being heard by the Singapore Arbitration panel, but both parties have fought parallel cases in the Indian court to enforce or ignore certain decisions taken by the Arbitrator.
In the latest retail submission in the latest future in New Delhi, the company believes that since the 2019 agreement no longer has an antitrust approval, it has “no legal existence” in India and Amazon can no longer affirm one of their rights.

The future and Amazon did not respond to a comment request.

But people who are familiar with the case say the antitrust suspension can make it easier for the future to encourage efforts to sell retail assets to rely on and weaken the Amazon legal position.
Disputes over retail in the future, which has more than 1,500 supermarkets and other outlets, is the most hostile flame point between Amazon and Reliance Jeff Bezos, which is run by Indian Richest People Mukesh Ambani, when they try to win retail consumers.
