ADVENT CALENDAR: Dec 7th - Otis Redding - 'White Christmas'

Posted on the 07 December 2013 by Rw/ff @rwffmusic
Sorry Bing... but this is without a doubt the best 'White Christmas' I've ever heard.

The legendary Otis Redding's version of the festive classic was released in October 1968, 10 months after his tragic death.

Stuart from http://quitmumbling.com said: "He turns the most family oriented time of the year into a love affair. Bing Crosby’s version of “White Christmas” may be the best selling single of all time (no joke), but if you really want to feel it, then let Otis give it to you. Of the innumerable renditions, this soulful take actually gives a sense of longing. Redding is alone on Christmas day and looking for someone to share it with. His words give “dreaming of a white Christmas” new meaning..."
