Thanks to rapid development in computer technology, children now has easier and faster ways to learn using everyday gadgets such as smartphones and tablets. It only takes a simple search on an app market to find a list full of hundreds of educational apps for kids. Even though, most of those poorly designed apps always fails to entertain kids in their journey of learning. It’s important to make the process of learning fun for the kids in order to get their full attention. Which is why we need more learning apps like Qboo, which combines latest technology with physical world to make education fun for children.

Qboo, the set of smart farm animal plush toys are not like those ordinary toys you find in a store. These smart toys comes with a tablet app which interacts with these toys to help improve a child’s social, intellectual, language, and problem-solving skills. The Qboo app features “open-ended gameplay [allowing] kids to control the flow of the game/stories based on their own imagination. So every time kids play they will experience a different flow in the same story.”

As a Sri Lankan myself, I feel proud to mention that this innovative project has been created by three brilliant young Sri Lankans, who are currently looking to raise necessary funding to launch these Qboo toys to the public.  Head over to the Indiegogo campaign page for more info and help these guys by making a contribution.
