True Blood’s Lettie Mae, Adina Porter speaks about her new TV series, “The 100″ and her take about her character, Indra and what makes her a strong leader of the Grounder village.

Adina is asked, about her character’s perspective on the show.  She replies:

“I’m surprised that people from the Ark can be as passionate and fierce as us Grounders. We’re enemies, so I think both woman can learn from each other. I’m excited to learn from her youth and her passion. And with my wisdom and passion, we’ll find common ground.”

One interesting aspect of Indra’s leadership is her ability to lead this group of warriors who are much larger and stronger than her,

“They are literally towering over me. I have to use other means of showing my strength, sometimes that includes, I think, vulnerability. I’m enjoying exploring different ways of being a smart warrior, because I can’t be just a physical warrior.”

It takes much more than those attributes to keep the village safe,

“We have to depend on ourselves in this new world that’s constantly changing and that we are constantly having to adapt to. So being hot-headed can destroy people; being fearful can destroy people.”

“I use my wits and I also have a pretty good gut instinct about people that I can trust and people I can’t trust. And, that’s what I’m choosing to believe that these big men are following me with. And I guess, just going by brute force and ego may be kind of what got our world into the mess it’s in already,”
