Big Mr A and I have been talking about adding to the A family for a few months. We would love to have a third child in the not too distant future, however, adding another child into the mix means thinking about a whole lot more baby items that we haven’t had to think about previously.
The main thing we would have to think about is a double buggy. When we had Little Miss A we didn’t have to think about this as Little Mr A was old enough to walk everywhere (or sit on his Dad’s shoulders!). There are lots of different double buggies to choose from and I would definitely look into one that was easy to get around and about the shops with. It can be difficult enough with a single buggy sometimes, I can’t imagine having a side by side to lug around!
Other things to think about are space, not just at home but in the car too. With car seats for young children being so big and bulky we would have to look into ones which we would be able to fit three across the back seat whilst still being able to get the Little A’s in and out of the car!
At home we only have three bedrooms so we would have to look into who could share with who. Bunk beds are an obvious way to save space in a bedroom, however, can only really be used with older children who are OK sleeping high up.
The actual addition of a third child doesn’t worry me too much (although everyone has been telling me how hard it is with three!). Little Mr A is very independent now and loves having his own space and time out. Little Miss A has been quite an easy baby and is becoming more independent every day too. The only thing that would concern me is having the time to get the three of them up and ready for the school run every morning. I’m sure we would soon get into a routine, however, it might mean I have to go to bed extra early at night to ensure I am up in time!
So, my question to everyone with more than two children – how on earth do you manage space wise?!
