Here are a few ways to ensure that a rainy, dull day doesn’t put a damper on your wedding day:
Be Realistic
Consider what weather conditions are likely to be at the time of year you are getting married and try to plan a wedding that will work with, not against nature. You might imagine a glorious Autumn wedding with a backdrop of red and gold leaves, or a Winter wedding in the glittering snow, but you are far more likely to end up with storms and sludge. If you are in love with the images from these times of year, simply incorporate decorative elements inside your venue.
Add Some Clever Lighting Design
Lighting can make a huge difference to the atmosphere of a venue. Look for flameless candles that won’t blow out in the wind and can be used safely indoors at any venue. Try draping fairylights over the top table or putting them in glass vases with a few silk flowers for striking centrepieces. You could also hang whimsical paper lanterns with led lights at the windows and doorways to add light and color that isn’t weather dependant.

Choose a Sunny Theme
Some wedding themes simply radiate happiness and sunshine. Think sunflowers and steel band music, gold and glitter or the vibrant color pallete of a Morrocan theme. One wedding that I attended projected scenic images from the couple’s travel wishlist against a blank wall which created a fun and colourful slideshow and transported guests to idyllic locations in their imagination.
