Adding More Definition to Abstract Painting

By Abstractartbylt @artbylt

The last time I finished working on this new abstract painting, I liked the basic structure and colors, but felt it needed more definition.  It also seemed to need more light, so the first thing I did was to add swaths of parchment with a palette knife.  Then I added a transitional color, a soft peach, and darkened some of the bright red with alizarin crimson. Finally, I drew sketchy lines in black for more definition and texture.

I'm not sure I like this version of the painting better than the first one.
