Adding Blazers to Summer Looks

By Bridgetteraes @BridgetteRaes

It's weird to be blogging about transitioning your summer clothes to fall when I just blogged about stylish ways to survive the heat yesterday. But fall will be here eventually and we all will be embracing cooler weather again. It doesn't just get cold instantly, autumn temperatures typically ease in slowly and we transition our clothing accordingly. One way to do this is to top a summer looks by adding blazers. In today's post, I am showing how easy it can be to bring your summer outfits into cooler weather by doing this.

Adding Blazers to Summer Looks

Outfit #1

Adding blazers to summer dresses is one of the easiest ways to transition them from one season to the next. In the outfit above, I layered this navy Ted Baker blazer over this printed dress from Modcloth. When taking a printed dress into the autumn months, choose prints that aren't too summery, like the one above. For accessories, I used the colors of the print and added these grey slingback flats from Marc Fisher and bag from Botkier. Lastly, I added this pendant from Nordstrom and earrings from Lord & Taylor.

Outfit #2

Have you ever thought of adding blazers to your shorts? It's not the most common of looks but it can work quite well if you want to dress up your summer outfits. In the outfit above, I added this fringe tweed jacket from Rebecca Taylor to a pair of cuffed shorts from Theory and grey tank top from Boden. The outfit is finished with a pair of yellow wedge sandals, tan bag from Frye, gold bangle from Stella & Dot and drop earrings from Aqua.

Outfit #3

Adding blazers to your sleeveless tops and jeans is probably the easiest ways to transition your looks from summer to fall. In this outfit, I styled these Lucky Brand boyfriend jeans and sleeveless Vince Camuto blouse with a grey blazer from J. Crew. The outfit is finished for fall with a pair of peep toe booties in cognac, bag from Vince Camuto, Panacea pendant and strappy leather bracelet from Salvatore Ferragamo.
