Actor-director Rob Reiner Says Tea Party is Just Like Hamas

This is why Hollywood socialists (I know, I know, it’s an oxymoron) are so despicable and utterly devoid of credibility.

Please answer the following questions:

  1. Have American TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party groups ever espoused armed resistance?
  2. Has the Tea Party ever not recognize any individual’s or group’s or state’s right to exist?
  3. Have Tea Partiers ever engaged in suicide bombings or rocket attacks?
  4. Has any Tea Party group ever been designated as a terrorist organization by any government, even less by the governments of 9 major countries, including the United States?

Your answers to the above 4 questions should all be “No.”

The organization to which all 4 questions apply is Hamas — the Islamist Palestinian organization in the Middle East which is using Gaza as a base for attacks on Israel. It was designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department in 1997.

In contrast, the Tea Party is a non-violent grassroots American political movement that emerged in 2010 which advocates fiscal responsibility, limited federal government and a return to the U.S. Constitution.

And yet, actor and director Rob Reiner, best known to America’s TV audiences as All In the Family‘s Meathead, publicly said the Tea Party movement is just like Hamas.

Drew Zahn reports for WND that on August 14, 2014, appearing on Larry King’s Russia Today TV program, “Politicking with Larry King,” Reiner — a “liberal” activist for same-sex marriage in California who has campaigned for the likes of Al Gore and Howard Dean — not only compared the Tea Party movement to the terrorist organization Hamas, Reiner said the only way to deal with “extremist” groups such as the Tea Party is to “eliminate” them.

During a discussion about the Gaza Strip, Reiner explained “you can’t negotiate” with “an extreme faction” like Hamas, which has pledged “the destruction of every Jew on the planet.” Instead, he said, you have to make sure a group like that “goes away.”

He likened his solution to dealing with the Tea Party:

“You look at the Congress right now in the United States. You’ve got a strong Tea Party group controlling the whole country, because they have a gridlock, they have a gridlock stranglehold on [Republican House Speaker John] Boehner. Boehner can’t make a move, and so for that reason, nothing gets brought up in the Congress.

So anytime you’re dealing with an extreme group, you cannot negotiate with them, and the way to do it is to eliminate it. With the Tea Party, you have to go through a political thing; you have to wait till 2020 to redistrict, but, uh, that is really tough stuff.”

You can hear and see Reiner for yourself by going to the WND page for the video.
