Acer Announces a Breakthrough Product Line-up Before IFA 2018!

Acer has announced an exciting array of products – ranging from laptops, headsets to gaming laptops and accessories and the timing for launching this line-up could not have been better than the ongoing IFA 2018 that is taking place in Berlin from 6th – 11th September. The new products include – the Acer Swift 5 (SF515-51T), Swift 5 (SF514-53T), Swift 3 (SF313-51), Swift 3 (SF314-55/SF314-55G), Swift 3 (SF314-56/SF-314-56G), the Swift 3 (SF314-55) in its Swift portfolio; the Acer OJO 500 Headset; a new refresh of the Aspire Z 24 all-in-one PC as well as new additions to the Aspire 7, Aspire 5, and Aspire 3 notebooks; the Predator XB273K; the Acer Nitro XV273K; the Predator Thronos Gaming chair as well a range of gaming gadgets.

Acer Swift 5

Acer announced the pricing and availability of the Swift 5 (SF515-51T) notebook. Deemed as the world’s lightest notebook PC with a 15-inch display, the Swift 5 delivers exceptional performance with a chassis that weighs less than one kilogram (990 g/2.2 pounds).

Powered by the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8565U and Core i5-8265U processors, the notebook delivers outstanding performance, with up to 10 hours of battery life to keep customers productive. It is running on Windows 10. Complementing the system’s strong performance and long battery life is the notebook’s LED backlit keyboard.

The Acer Swift 5 boasts up to 16 GB of DDR4 SDRAM and up to a 1 TB NVMe PCIe SSD for speedy boot times and file access.

Customers can enjoy a fast and reliable Wi-Fi connection with 2×2 802.11ac wireless Gigabit performance. The Swift 5 also features a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen-2 port delivering high-speed 10 Gbps data transfers and supporting power delivery and display output, plus two USB 3.1 Type-A ports (one with power-off charging functionality), and an HDMI port.

Acer has also its ultra-portable 14-inch (SF514-53T) with the latest Intel Core processors – Intel Core i7-8565U and Intel Core i5-8265U to deliver a boost in performance and battery life. The elegant chassis on the Swift 5 (SF514-53T) weighs only 970 grams (2.14 pounds) and measures only 14.9 mm (0.59 inches) thin. Similar to its counterpart Swift 5 (SF515-51T), customers can stay in touch with 2×2 802.11ac Gigabit wireless connectivity.

Acer has further updated its Swift 3 line to include new models with 13.3-inch and 14-inch displays with sleek aluminum designs. The Swift 3 product line includes the Swift 3 (SF313-51), the 13-inch notebook PC for productivity on the go; the Swift 3 (SF314-55/SF314-55G) packs a full HD 14-inch display into a 1.4 kg (3.08 pounds) design and the Swift 3 (SF314-56/SF-314-56G) offers the same full HD 14-inch display, processor and graphics options as the Swift 3 (SF314-55).

Acer OJO 500 Headset

At IFA, Acer announced its new Acer Windows Mixed Reality headset, the Acer OJO 500. The new headset comes with a detachable design that offers superior flexibility, comfort, and hygiene for consumers and businesses. Its unique design enables the lens and head strap to be individually removed, making the headset easy to store and clean.

The headset is available with either a hard or soft head strap – the soft head strap is machine washable while the extra-large padding on the hard head strap helps the headset fit securely and firmly in place.

“The Acer OJO 500 brings several significant new features to this class of Windows Mixed Reality headsets,” said Andrew Chuang, General Manager, Presence Computing, IT Products Business, Acer Inc. “We have improved the user experience with innovative visual and audio technologies and made the headset more comfortable and easier than ever to use.”

The Acer OJO 500 features a built-in interpupillary distance (IPD) wheel and a patented smart phone app to measure IPD distance (the gap between the eye’s pupil and the display).

As a first in VR headsets, the audio system of the headset uses a patented sound pipe design that enables users to hear audio without wearing earphones, and remaining aware of the surroundings while still enjoying an immersive experience.

Furthermore, as an optional configuration, the Acer OJO 500 includes two Bluetooth enabled motion controllers that sync with the headset; a Windows 10 button, touchpad, and grab button to let users interact with digital objects in mixed reality.

 Acer Aspire Z 24

An elegant refresh of its Aspire Z 24 all-in-one PC and new additions to the Aspire 7, Aspire 5, and Aspire 3 notebooks series were announced by Acer as a part of its next announcement at IFA 2018. The Aspire series are powered by Windows 10 and caters to the needs of a wide range of users.

The Acer Aspire Z 24 is designed as a home PC for families with connectivity and casual applications such as web browsing, social media, watching movies and casual gaming. It is extremely thin at just 11 mm (0.4 inches), blending in with the living room decor. It is supported by a glossy V-shaped metal stand that gives it a sleek and timeless style and is equipped with a far-field microphone array made up of four digital microphones so customers can use their voice service of choice, such as Amazon Alexa or Cortana, to get weather reports, play music and manage everyday tasks from up to 4 meters away (13.12 ft).

Powered by the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ desktop processors, the Z 24 supports for up to 32GB of Intel Optane memory and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphic.

The Aspire 7 is powered up to an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8705G processor that features Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics on the processor package encased in a slim 16.9 mm, all-metal body, weighing just 1.5 kg. The laptop will cater to prosumers, designers, content creators, or those who want a PC with more bite. The Acer Aspire 7 is not only beautifully designed with its full metal chassis with extra-light magnesium-lithium bottom cover and slim-line look, but also packs a powerful punch. It has a 15.6 inch IPS display with a narrow bezel design with resolutions of up to Ultra HD (3840×2160), weighs 1.5 kg and measures 358 x 247.5 x 16.9 mm. It is built on the powerful 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8705G or i5-8305G processor with Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics and 4 GB HMB2 Graphics Memory. It has up to 16 GB DDR4 memory, up to 512 GB of PCIe NVMe RAID 0 SSD storage, and a backlit keyboard to give users an added boost in productivity.

With a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, the Aspire 5 is ideal for bloggers, photographers and creators offering exceptional CPU and graphics performance with up to the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with integrated Gigabit Wi-Fi for blazing fast connectivity and up to an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. The Acer Aspire 3 is a great value laptop designed for everyday tasks at home, work or school, and includes a built in optical disk drive drive. The 14-inch Full HD display laptop comes in a variety of vivid colors and is perfect for delivering powerful multimedia experiences and entertainment. The Aspire 3 also packs in up to 8GB of DDR4 2666 MHz memory, a Precision Touchpad, Acer BluelightShield, an HDMI port, 3 USB ports and an optional built-in DVD drive.

The Aspire Z 24, Aspire 7 and Aspire 5 notebooks (barring only Aspire 3) come powered by 8th Gen Intel Core processors that will feature the built-in Amazon Alexa, joining Acer’s growing portfolio of Alexa for PC devices.

Acer Predator/Nitro

With the intent to bring games to life, Acer unveiled four new gaming monitors in its Predator and Nitro gaming portfolio, a next-level gaming chair and a complete set of gaming gadgets.

The Predator XB273K is an ideal solution for users who look for an exciting gaming experience with its ultra-high definition (3840×2160) immersion and a rapid 144Hz refresh rate. It features the Acer ErgoStand design that offers the user the freedom to swivel, pivot and adjust height for maximum adaptability and viewing comfort. The Acer VisionCare help protect eyes during longer gaming sessions. NVIDIA G-SYNC eliminates screen tearing by adapting to the framerate of the outputting device, resulting in buttery smooth gameplay that offers an unparalleled gaming experience.

The new Acer Nitro XV273K monitor on the other hand delivers extremely high refresh rates and ultra-high resolution, and is an apt for high resolution gaming. It offers a Visual Response Boost (VRB) for smooth, tear-free gameplay that doesn’t break the bank. Acer presents the new Predator Thronos Gaming chair for a new level of gamer. Its steel structure is 1.5 meters tall and comes in dual-tone black with white or blue accents. A special feature of the chair is that it vibrates upon in-game impact. The chair is adjustable and includes an ergonomic seat design, foot rest, and a cabin that reclines up to 140 degrees. The overhead brace supports three 27-inch gaming monitors and a space for a Predator gaming PC. The chair further comes integrated with a Predator PC and triple Predator monitors plus gadgets.

Besides, In line with its vision of bringing breakthrough affordable gaming to consumers, Acer also announced a new range of compatible Nitro gaming gadgets
